Dear Parent or Guardian,
Over the course of the last several years the elementary schools within the Mitchell School District have participated in the Weekend Snack Pack Program. This program gives children who are eligible for free and reduced meals a sack of snacks to take home for themselves over the weekend. I am excited to announce that the Mitchell Middle School will be starting this program with its 7th grade students. Eligibility for this program is determined by your qualification for free and reduced meals through the National School Lunch Program.
The Program is set up so that at the end of each week, your child will be given easy to prepare snacks for the weekend. Beginning September 8th and continuing through the end of the school year, the snacks will be given out on the last day of the school week. Children will pick up the Snack Pack from the cafeteria at the end of the school day.
Certainly, this is an optional program for you and your child. If you would like your child to participate in this program, please sign and return the permission slip below. Have your child return a permission slip for each child participating to the Middle School office as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday September 27th. The first distribution date for this program will be October 7th. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 605-995-3051.
Need homework help? We've got that covered!
Power Hour is related to our ICU program. If a student is struggling in a class, the teacher will ask them to attend Power Hour. This runs from 3:20-4:20 and the rooms vary. We let the students know what room they are assigned to that day. Call the office if you have questions!
