Parsons Pirates Update
November 20, 2023
Message From the Principal
Dear Parsons Families,
We had the most amazing assembly this week with Basketball Jim Jones. This assembly was paid for with funds from the Fun Run and every student was on the edge of their seats. Basketball Jones emphasized effort over perfection. He talked about how students should own their effort and how it's not talent but persistence that builds character. He talked about how doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time results in positive consequences and results. Basketball Jones engaged the audience with stories, tricks, and plenty of kid effort! We are very grateful for our community for the opportunity to have this assembly.
This has been a wonderful start to the year. Our wish for you is that all of our families have an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Happy Thanksgiving! The next update will be Friday, December 1st.
Sincerely,
Sarah Aherne

- What brings you joy? Seeing people smile and helping people out
- How do you bring joy to others? Preparing by putting a smile on people's face. I use our class quote "If someone doesn't have a smile, give them one of yours."
- Who is someone that brings joy to you? My great grandma because she's 90 years old and still smiling.

Teacher of the Month
Jamie Churches', State Representative HD 27, office has a new ‘Teacher of the Month’ nomination form available on their website. As always, they wish to highlight the phenomenal educators of our district and showcase their incredible efforts in the classroom, with our students, and within the school community. I have attached the link to this email for your convenience. As they receive nominations, her team will reach out accordingly to schedule a day/time to present the award to a teacher per school month. Last year, Brittany Gurney received this award. We have so many awesome educators!
