April Belle River Elementary Newsletter
Belle River Sailors are safe, respectful, kind, and good friends!
WELCOME BACK! We hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! We look forward to a great first week of April!
March was a month full of reading here at Belle River! We enjoyed celebrating March is Reading Month by sharing The Chocolate Touch as a whole school. All students received a copy of the book to enjoy with their families throughout the month. We had daily comprehension questions and prizes too. We hope you enjoyed this fun book with your families. A special thank you to our PTO for providing the prizes.
We will wrap up our third marking period on April 9th. M-Step testing will begin this month too. Our 5th graders will begin their testing April 10th and our 3rd and 4th grades will begin testing in early May. Teachers will keep you posted on when the different grade levels will be testing and which subjects. Our students are very fortunate, as we will be the only building solely testing on Chromebooks within their own classrooms. This will help relieve many scheduling conflicts as well as help our students feel comfortable and relaxed while testing in their own classrooms on devices they are very familiar and experienced with using. It will continue to be a very busy time of year for academic growth and learning for all of our students. We continue to appreciate your support at home as we work hard to meet the needs of all learners!
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Our LOST AND FOUND is overflowing with articles of clothing, boots, and other winter items. Please be sure to stop in and take a look if your child is missing something. At the end of this week (4/5), all remaining items will be donated.

TITLE ONE STEAM NIGHT WAS A HUGE HIT WITH BELLE RIVER FAMILIES!
We had another special addition to our event. Mr. Fregetto once again set up a table in the gym with his high school engineering students to demonstrate their projects too. This was a big hit with our younger learners. Thank you Mr. Fregetto and students.
Each family participated in 2 different STEAM challenges. Families spent a half hour in two different events using science, technology, engineering, art, math, and TEAMWORK to master the challenges assigned to them. We have a lot of determined, creative, and inventive students and families at Belle River!
This year's challenges and winners are:
Bucket Tower: Beau Biland, Preston and Landon Agosta
