FAC Weekly Update

April 1, 2022

Good afternoon, Fine Arts Center Family

We're back from a great Spring Break and hitting the ground running! With four performances on the calendar for next week, there's a lot to be excited about. I encourage our students and parents to attend as many events as possible, stepping outside of their area of study to see the amazing things that our students across all studios are doing. Nothing is better than performing for a large, supportive audience!

Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...

This Week's Student Leadership Lesson

Remember that the size of the person, not the size of the mistakes, determines success or failure.

We must be big enough to admit our mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.

Evaluate your mistakes and respond accordingly. Forget your mistakes, but remember what they taught you.

Questions to ask about each mistake:

1. What was the mistake?

2. Why did I make it?

3. How can I fix it?

4. What did I learn from it?

5. How can I teach this to someone else?

From the FAC Parent Guild

Dear FAC Family and Friends,

It’s amazing that the end of the year is approaching so quickly, only a few months left! We have two large events that we need your help to make happen.

The first is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are honoring our wonderful Fine Art Center Faculty and Staff the week of May 2-6. The plan is to organize food, snacks, and gifts during this week. Our Events Coordinator, Kristin Bailey, has already begun planning to show them how much they have meant this year to us and to our students.

The second event is graduation! We have 122 students graduating this year from 7 areas of study. Planning for this is already happening as well. We want to put as much effort into this celebration as our students have put into the Fine Art Center for the last 4 years.

Please visit the Sign Up Genius (FAC Events: 2022 FAC Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week AND Graduation (signupgenius.com) to contribute to these events.

Your continued generosity has been such a blessing to our school and teachers! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Students who apply for financial assistance must be committed to attending the FAC next year. Recipients will be chosen first by financial need (as determined by P.I.P. status) and then by merit (Grade Point Average), with teacher input into the student's performance also being a factor. You will need to provide proof of acceptance into the program/camp (email or hard copy) along with the submission of the form. The form is due Friday, April 8, 2022, and can be accessed at the following link - https://forms.gle/wjV1Gi2DmGQEfKgJ9.
