Tournament Descriptions
The Tennis Clubs of Florida State University and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University are co-hosting a USTA Tennis On Campus Florida Series tournament on the weekend of October 3-4. Please email fsutennisclub@gmail.com by Sunday September 27th with how many teams your school wishes to bring. Due to the resources both of our schools have we are capping the number of teams to 32. This is so that bracket play doesn't end too late on Sunday to let the farther teams get back to their respective schools at a better hour than past years. The cost of each team is $40, this is to help with the cost of having the FSU indoor tennis courts on stand-by or use that weekend. So even if the weather doesn't cooperate with us we have a minimum of 6 courts reserved for the whole weekend, thus insuring results for points. T-shirts and light breakfast foods will be provided.
For questions, before or during tournament, please contact Samantha Roy (FSU) 862-216-5006 or Andy Pitts (FAMU) 850-508-5309
Format
The tournament format is World Team Tennis. Each match will consist of the following:
- 1 set Men's Singles
- 1 set Women's Singles
- 1 set Men's Doubles
- 1 set Women's Doubles
- 1 set Mixed Doubles
A 5 minute warm-up will be given before each match. On the first day, there will be pool play and on the second day there will be bracket play.
