Principal's Message
Dear Mariner Families,
The holiday season is rapidly approaching! There are less than two weeks of school before we have an extended winter break. This time of the year can be exciting, but we also know that it can be a difficult time for many students. If you have any needs or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact a counselor, administrator, or teacher at Mariner. We will do what we can to help make this time of the year pleasant for our students and families. If you enjoy good music during the holiday season, our talented musical groups will be performing in the next few weeks. The Mariner Choir performs their “Winter Concert” on Wednesday, December 8th at 7pm in the Mariner Commons. The orchestra will have their “Winter Concert” on Monday, December 13th at 7:00pm at the Performing Arts Center at Kamiak. And the Mariner Band will be performing their “Holiday Spectacular” concert on Thursday, December 16th at 7:00pm in the Mariner Commons. Each of these performances are free to the public. Lastly, I want to remind you that you can view your student’s updated grades through Family Access in Qmlativ. Teachers are required to update grades in Qmlativ at least two times per month. If you have any questions about grades that your student cannot answer, please be sure to contact the teacher directly.
I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Nate DuChesne - Principal
School Safety
Over the last few weeks, we have had a few potential safety issues at Mariner High school; the prompt action by students and staff to report concerning messages and postings has helped administrators intervene immediately.
Incidents such as these are a good reminder that if you see or hear something unusual, report the information to an administrator immediately. Students, parents, and staff may contact the safe schools hotline by one of the following methods:
- A person with a concern can call or text 425-374-0021
- send an email to SafeSchools
- visit SafeSchools Alert Tipline to submit a tip
More information on School Safety in the Mukilteo School District can be found here.

News From the Library
It is an absolute pleasure welcoming our Marauders back into the library. September and October have been busy with distributing computers, orientations, book talks, and checkout. If your child has any items out from the last school year including library books, English novels, textbooks, and older computers, the library staff will happily check these items back in. If your child has items from one of our middle schools in the district, we will be happy to help get the materials back to their former middle school.
Thank you for your help.

Teacher-Librarian
Stay Connected!
Information and news about Mariner High School are available in a variety of formats. This year, you will receive a phone message and email from the district if we close or delay school. This helps ensure we reach everyone, including those without an email address on file, before students stand outside at a bus stop, and before parents leave for work. If you added a text message number in the Blackboard portal https://mukilteoschooldistrict.bbcportal.com/ you would also receive a text message. As usual, school delays or closures will be posted on the district website and posted through FlashAlert, which also feeds into mainstream local news feeds.
