News from the PHS Counselors

December 2018

Your PHS Student Services office is here to provide families and students academic, career, and personal/social support. We send out newsletters 4-5 times per year full of important information for all grade levels!

2018-2019 Course Registration to begin in December

Counselors will be in social studies classrooms beginning December 5th to talk to students about their course selections for the 2019-2020 school year. Students will register for their courses at the end of December in their Social Studies small groups via their iPad. Counselors will be present to review their course selections. Please take time to review their course selections and sign their registration form so counselors know you have reviewed it! Their course choices are a crucial component to building our master schedule and determining how many sections there will be for each class!

Individual Sophomore Planning Conferences Have Begun

Each fall we offer 10th grade students and their parents an individual Sophomore Planning Conference (SPC) with their school counselor. During the meeting topics covered will include: a review the PHS graduation requirements, your child’s current academic progress, course planning, ACT/SAT information, college exploration, and career interests. It is not too late to sign up for a conference. You can do so through skyward through the "Parent/Teacher Conference" tab or call Gina Siolka at 822-6725 to register.
