Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of March 28, 2021
A Message From Our Principal
It’s hard to believe that we are upon our spring break! It has been great to see our students in person these past few weeks. Please keep in mind if you travel outside the state to a destination that is not Delaware, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania you will have to follow the state recommendations for travel advisory. Please let our attendance secretary know if you must quarantine so we can allow your child to participate virtually during the quarantine time and not be marked absent.
School will be closed from Friday, April 2nd until Sunday, April 11th. We will resume teaching and learning on Monday April 12th, continuing with the 4-1 model which is Monday, April 12th fully virtual and return to the four day in person schedule on Tuesday, April 13th. If you have a child who is virtual and would like to return to in person education, please contact me so we can plan for the return of your child at the start of the 4th marking period. This will be the last time a fully virtual student can pivot to in person. We are beginning preparations to go five days in person soon. Keep looking for that date.
I would like to also inform our community that we continue to have great things happen in the High School. Our own Mr. Jim House (Science Teacher) has just been awarded the Atlantic County Teacher of the year! It’s exciting because now he will be in the mix to move closer to being the New Jersey State Teacher of the Year. We are so proud of this accomplishment and wish him luck as he continues on.
The Multicultural Club under the direction of Mr. Bell has been working on the virtual EHT Idol! We finished the first week where Freshman Jordan Miller had the most votes and will move on. The next round will begin soon. I can’t wait to see our talented young people compete! The school musical this year, “Les Miserables”, will open during the break from April 6th-9th. Seats are limited but it can be seen live and a video will be made available to view in the next few weeks. The prom committee will be releasing prom packets when we return from break, With the senior survey it was voted that the prom remain at the original venue, Harrah’s.
Have a restful week off. Hope we can all reenergize and return excited to learn and complete the school year! Stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Congratulations Mr. House on Winning Atlantic County Teacher of the Year!

Students of the Week
STUDENT: Winniffer Peguero-Paulino
NOMINATED BY: Mrs. McGowan
Kindness, helpfulness, compassion and initiative are the characteristics that Winny
exemplifies as she helps with care and understanding when she helps translate classroom instruction to a student with very little English. Winny does this appropriately and with initiative. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to teach such an amazing young woman.
STUDENT: Meihan Chen and Karyn Petroski
NOMINATED BY: Mrs. McGowanMeihan Chen and Karyn Petroski showed initiative, thinking out of the box, and compassion when they helped a senior. During the After School Immigrant Program, these 2 young ladies helped a senior figure out an inventive way of attacking a technical issue the senior was having. Now this solution is being utilized by many students and their teacher.
Eagle Greenery Holds 2021 Spring Flower Contest

All who participated were positive and upbeat! Thank you to the high school faculty, staff and students who purchased tickets and congratulations to all the happy flower winners!
As always, thank you for your continued support of the Greenery and its students!
