ASB Spring Basket Sale - Ends March 30th!
Just a reminder that our spring basket sale is over on March 30th. This fundraiser is sponsored by the Edgemont ASB in partnership with Windmill Gardens. If interested, please talk to your student or contact the main office. All plants will be delivered to the school between June 13th and 17th.
The picture below provides some examples of the different plants that might be included in your order. Windmill Gardens cannot reserve or guarantee a specific color or mix but every basket will be beautiful and unique.
EJH Booster Club Needs You!
We are restarting our Edgemont Booster Club (our version of the PTA) after an extensive break. Our first meeting of the year is at 6:00 pm on April 20, 2022 in the EJH cafeteria. Ultimately we need volunteers to help make the school a better place for students and staff. Everyone is welcome and no prior experience is necessary. Thanks in advance for your support!
Panorama Survey Results
Earlier in the year, the Puyallup School District partnered with Panorama to create a survey for parents, staff, and students. The goal was to gain a greater perspective on the feelings people had toward the schools and the district. The major emphasis was on student belonging and the supports for those struggling during the pandemic.
While this is a starting point, the results of the survey point to several items that our school and district can focus on as we move forward. If you are interested in seeing the results of this survey, you can look through the attachments included below.
House Points
Our house competition is close with Constantia still in the lead. House Rimor made a bit of a comeback after earning 30 points based on their grade performance at progress check time. This week our 9th graders get the next event with the centipede ski challenge. Keep the games rolling!
9th Grade Academic Assistance - Freshman Tuesday and Wednesday Math Help
Between now and the end of the school year, all 9th graders who are failing a course will be placed into our Freshman Tuesday and/or Wednesday Math Help afterschool intervention sessions. The purpose is to provide extra assistance for those who need to get back on track for graduation. These sessions last from 2:00 to 4:15 pm and tutors will be present to provide help. Students can either get a ride home from parents/guardians or ride the activity bus.
Students can be excused from these sessions once they have achieved passing grades, have turned in all missing work prior to Tuesday, or if families have communicated with our On-Time Graduation Specialist regarding a specific plan to get their child passing.
If you have any questions as to the status of your child's grades, we encourage you to access your Schoology account. Better yet, ask your child to turn on their district device and have them show you their grades. This not only encourages accountability but also opens the door for conversation.

PREVENTION MESSAGE
Washington State Healthcare Authority
Substance use disorder prevention and mental health promotion
The Health Care Authority (HCA) funds substance use disorder prevention programs statewide. We also provide oversight and support to local partners working to prevent substance use and to promote health and wellness in communities across the state.
Prevention priorities
Keeping children and teens healthy and safe while reducing the cost to communities of substance misuse are our highest priorities. Our prevention and intervention goals are to delay and prevent the misuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, reduce the negative consequences of substance use, and prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug dependency. We are also committed to supporting community-based organizations across the state to promote mental wellness and prevent suicide in high need communities.
The services we fund are data-driven and prioritized based on our state's strategic plan. Our prevention programs are delivered in collaboration with community prevention coalitions, counties, tribes, statewide organizations, and state and federal agencies.
