Bacteria's Role in the World

Bacteria in Nature
Bacteria are decomposers, which are at the bottom of the food chain. Decomposers eat dead material and turn it into energy for them. If decomposers didn't exist, the world would be a lot more polluted. Also, using soil that has a lot of good bacteria in it can help plants grow and stay healthy.
Bacteria in us
Humans have 100 trillion microbes in their body. You might think this sounds really bad, but these microbes actually help us survive. They help out with our digestive system and our immune system. They also make important vitamins for our bodies.
