January 2022
Message from the Principal
Dear Henry Ford Families,
Welcome to 2022! I hope you enjoyed the time off. Students are returning to school, in-person on Tuesday, January 4th. In addition to the Covid-19 protocols that are currently in place, all district employees must provide a copy of a negative antigen test to return to campus. We are also encouraging families to get their students vaccinated and tested before returning to school. If your child tests positive for Covid-19, please notify the office. Your child will need to quarantine for 10 days, and test negative before returning to school. As long as you notify the office, the absence will be excused. It is also important to notify the classroom teacher so that work can be sent home.
Attendance
Please keep your child home if they test positive for Covid, or is experiencing any Covid like symptoms. Absences for illness and doctor appointments are excused as long as a parent or guardian notifies the office.
Despite the pandemic, state policy requires schools that receive Average Daily Attendance (ADA) funding to send truancy letters to students each time they accumulate three or more unexcused absences. The policy also requires we use specific language in our letters. The letters are automatically generated by Powerschool. Truancy letters are generated based on unexcused absences only and serve as a reminder that your child is missing school and to notify the office if they are ill.
