EDMS Community COVID19 Update
April 13th, 2020
#ToroFamily
Happy Monday everyone! We hope you all had a nice albeit uneventful Spring Bring with those you are Sheltering In Place with. While it may not have seemed like it was Spring Break, we do hope you got some time to relax, breathe, and be with those you love. It has been exactly a month since we last saw students on campus and we miss them dearly. As you may have probably already heard, ALL Contra Costa County schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. It is with heavy and conflicted hearts that we heard this news last week. There is nothing more we would want than to see our students and be with them for the remainder of the year. However, we also completely understand the need to be safe during these difficult times.
Having said that, we will be attempting to reach out and connect with EVERY student in the coming weeks. If you are getting this newsletter and your student has not connected yet, we want to hear from you. You can email Mr. Clausen, Ms. Gemma, or Ms. O'Malley or any of your teachers. You can find the list of Google Classroom codes here, to get the work from each of your classes. We would also encourage you all to check out our social media feeds @edmstoros on Instagram Twitter, and Facebook for the most current information and other ways you can connect. We will be reaching out to those we haven't heard from or connected with. We hope all students will participate in the remote/distance learning to some degree as we wind down the year. We do not want the workload to overwhelm students, but rather provide some structured learning opportunities to have them finish the year strong and prepare for next Fall.
We are sure that many of you have questions about what schools being closed until the end of the year means. Please check below for an opportunity to ask some of those questions at our ToroFamily Community Forum this Wednesday. As the weeks go on we will be pushing out more information about a variety of topics as we get closer to the end of the year.
Please continue to check back often throughout the closure. If you cannot get online due to not having a device please see below about how to check out a Chromebook.
