GSACRD Voice
When parenting a teen, there can be a lot of discussion with them about their life goals, their problems, and understanding their dreams as they grow. But what if your teen doesn’t open up? How can we understand them if they never share their interests with us? The answer is simple: for our children to open up to us, we have to engage them in topics that they’re interested in. If, “How did your math test go?” is met with silence, try, “What level are you on in Minecraft?” Check out Big Life Journal for more conversation ideas, or check out the graphic below!

Grade 9 faith retreat - Skaro Shrine
Grade 9 students at MCHS had the opportunity to take part in a faith retreat at Skaro Shrine, located just north of Lamont. During this day, they were able to visit the rosary garden, the shrine, the cemetery as well as the chapel. Students engaged in discussions about faith and other topics while making lasting memories with their friends. Thank you to all the staff who were involved in making this day happen and also to the students for representing MCHS in such a great manner. Special shout out to the Doug for sharing his great knowledge and blessing us with his delightful presence!

2023 MCHS Alumni Volleyball Tournament
*Note - Corrections have been made from last week's announcement regarding the MCHS Alumni Volleyball tournament, see below.
In it's long-awaited return, the annual event did not disappoint. It featured 14 teams who all fought hard and battled until the end. Congrats to Craig Seguin and his team for earning the title of "Champions" in this year's MCHS Alumni Volleyball Tournament! Further congratulations to Jackie Cornelius and her team who took first place on the women's side!
As always, this was a time of fun, laughter, reminiscing on old memories while making new ones. Thank you to everyone who participated and a special thanks to Mr. Bodnar who spearheaded the event along with the help of Ms. Willows, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Christensen and Mr. Clayton.

Have You Lost The Plot? - Weekly Scripture Reflection - Isaiah 55:6-9
We are, on any given day, in danger of losing the plot. There is a larger story of our lives of which God is the author and creator. But we can easily get caught up in the smaller stories of our lives where everything has to go OUR way. We need to be at the center of the story. Our opinions, our attitudes, our way of doing life. We need to come back to knowing that God is good and we can trust God to write our story with us.
