March 15: Compare Map Data Side by Side
On GE Teach you can select from a gallery of map layers to compare data side-by-side. In addition to comparing maps students can use the drawing and measuring tools that you would typically find in Google's My Maps tool. This is a great resource for comparing data sets on a map. Data sets include physical information (i.e. topography, climate, vegetation index, etc.), and human information (population density, economy, religion, life expectancy, etc.).
- Go to geteach.com.
- Navigate to a map view that will be mirrored on the other side.
- Go to "Select Map" to add a visual layer of data to review and/or use the drawing tools to customize the map.
