Tuesday, May 11 STAAR Math 3rd-5th grade IN PERSON STUDENTS
Wednesday, May 12 STAAR Reading 3rd-5th grade IN PERSON STUDENTS
Thursday, May 13th STAAR Science 5th grade IN PRSON STUDENTS

Tuesday and Wednesday will be asynchronous for 3rd and 4th grade (NO LIVE ZOOM CLASSES)
Tuesday-Thursday will be asynchronous for 5th grade (NO LIVE ZOOM CLASSES)

General Reminders:

  • Get a good night’s sleep. (9-11 hours)
  • Eat a good breakfast. If you want breakfast at school, please arrive between 7:15 am and 7:30 am.
  • Be on time to school: Students should be on campus no later than 7:45 AM. If you are running late, please call 254-751-7878.
  • Make sure to bring Chromebook to campus.
  • Students should not bring cell phones or smart devices. They will NOT be allowed to use them on campus.

We invite all parents, students, staff and other community stakeholders to attend Harmony Public Schools-DFW/Waco District Wellness Plan Committee meeting and triennial assessment. The meeting will be held virtually on May 12th from 4:00pm-5:30pm. We will review our current District Wellness Plan (located on the website of each campus) in regards to nutrition education, Smart Snack Guidelines, fundraisers, exemption days, classroom parties, etc. as well as complete our triennial assessment as to how well the policies indicated in the wellness plan were implemented. We are learning about changes in ourselves and in the things around us. We will look at some life cycles, observe weather changes, and look for other things that change. We are continuing to review shapes, numbers, and letters as we work to complete our end of the year assessments. -Mrs. Vasquez

This week in Pre-KB we are reviewing all letters A- Z, reviewing numbers (1-20), reviewing basic colors, reviewing basic shapes and 3D shapes, working on sight words, working on rhyming, and compound words. We also will try to start reading small sentences. The countdown begins, we only have 13 days of school left. Let’s have a GREAT week!!! -Ms. Bateman

This week in Pre-K C we are reviewing our letters and talking about beginning sounds and rhyming words. We will also be discussing weight. Ms. Ingroum


Kindergarten will be reviewing words that begin with a vowel or consonant, practicing hearing and dividing words into syllables, and learning that writing a research paper involves finding information from sources. In Math we will continue with our unit on money. In Social Studies we are reviewing maps and globes, and in Science we are learning about animals and their habitats. Don't forget to send water bottles....the weather is getting warmer and water helps to hydrate the brain. Have a wonderful week!

1st Grade

In English we are working on adjectives and words with oo, ew, and ue.

In Math we are learning how to count money.

In Social Studies we will be reviewing past lessons.

In Science we are learning about Turtles!


2nd Grade

Math- We will be taking our end of year assessment this week. This assessment will help us to see what your child will need review on in order to make sure they are prepared for third grade. We have 12 school days left, so please make sure that your child is completing any make up work or missing work. Have a blessed week. -Ms. Lester

ELA- This week we will be spelling words ending in 'y'. We will review text features, making connections, and poetry. On Friday, we will take our end of unit CBA #10 Test. Please remind students to read for at least 20 minutes each day. -Ms. Brown

This week students will continue our unit on Biological Evolution. We will be studying life cycles. Please check dojo regularly and make sure students are completing all assignments with a 70 or higher. Be sure to watch for egg-citing news this week! Our eggs have begun hatching!-Mrs. A. Martinez

2A/C ELA- This week we will be finishing up Module 10: Many Cultures, One World (wk 2). We will review open and closed syllables, story structure, and making/confirming predictions. For Grammar and Writing, we will learn about prepositional phrases and how to write a "Thank You" letter. This week is STAAR week and I'd like to wish our 3rd-5th graders luck! Parents, I'd also like to thank you for showering me with gifts last week. I felt the love! It is an honor to be a part of each and every one of my student's academic growth. I truly am blessed to be their teacher! Please remember to pack your child's water bottle every day. The end is near, please be on time and present every day. Thank you! -Ms. B.Martinez

3rd Grade

Hey third grade families! We are almost to the end of the year! Next week online students will be taking their math and reading STAAR tests on campus. Therefore, all in-person 3rd grades will be asked to stay home on those days. All course work will be asynchronous. Please check Dojo for more updates! Reach out if you need anything :)-Ms. Curtis

ELA-This week we will take the STAAR Math and Reading tests. We will review all tested STAAR TEKS. Students will be working on spelling words with the -er, -le endings. We will take our end of unit CBA #10 Test. Please remind students to read for at least 20 minutes each day. -Ms. Brown

4th Grade

We will read chapters 1-2 in "The Littles." We will make inferences as we read. We will also work on writing this week to describe the different characters in the novel.-Mrs. Driver

We are STAAR testing in-person students this week and our virtual learners next week. After testing, we still start working on our Vacation project. We will be budgeting, researching and planning a European trip!-Ms. McCaig

This week students will continue our unit - Organisms and Environment. We will be studying inherited traits and learned behaviors. 4B In-person students will be taking the STAAR test for reading and math. Online students will be asynchronous Tuesday and Wednesday. They will need to complete all Exit Tickets for their classes. We will begin a new book study on Thursday.-Ms. Swanner

5th Grade

Hello 5th grade parents and guardians! We are in our final stretch of the school year!

This week, in person students will take the Math, Reading, and Science Staar Test. Next

week the online students will take all 3 tests. Students can prepare by working through

Education Galaxy, studying all of their notes, and practicing facts using Rocket Math.

In social studies we will be studying the post civil war reconstruction. What would our country be like if President Abraham Lincoln lived to direct the reconstruction.-Mr. Walton

Hello Parents,

We are working on the author's purpose this week in Reading. The in-person students this week are working on completing their STAAR Testing, Next week the Online students will come to school to complete their STAAR Testing. Please continue to check School Story and Class Story in Dojo for all announcements and important dates. May is here and I know everyone will finish strong. A Reminder that Attendance is important and Exit Tickets are required daily for attendance. Please make sure your student is completing all missing work, Exit Tickets, and coming to zoom with cameras on.
