April 5th-9th (No School)
Principal's Message
The progressive and recent rise in hate and violence toward the Asian community affects us all. As a school community, it is our responsibility to support and educate our students and help them navigate difficult issues and confusing times.
Last week, Superintendent Denise Coleman shared how USD has partnered with Ken Shelton, an equity and inclusivity consultant, for the past two years. A few of Oster's teachers have been attending Ken's professional development sessions, most recently on how stereotypes and perceptions can lead to hate and violence, with a focus on the Asian-American community. Together, with shared resources, we will be partnering to address this topic at school.
Below, please find the links originally shared a few days ago. These and more relating to education and schools have been shared with our teachers as well.

Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is the district plan which shows how Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Supplemental funds will be spent to principally support students identified as English Language Learners, Socioeconomically Disadvantaged or Foster Youth. Part of preparing the annual LCAP update for this year is to gather stakeholder feedback on goals and services which will then inform the planning for 2021-24.
As a district, we are committed to ensuring that all of our students are prepared with a foundation of excellence to pursue lifelong learning and become productive citizens. We value your input and ask that you please take a few minutes to complete this survey by Friday, April 16: Union School District LCAP Survey
Deadline Extended for USD Writers and Artists Fair
