Service Capture Training for School Counselors and NPI/MA Enrollment for LCPC's
The second portion of this class, NPI/MA enrollment is only for LCPC's. Last spring, BCPS added to the job description that if school counselors have an LCPC, we are required to complete the NPI/MA enrollment as a BCPS employee. If you have not done so already, you can either complete this on your own or at this session on September 12th. Contact Jen if you would like the instructions to complete it on your own.
Contact Jen Abbe at jabbe@bcps.org if you plan to attend on September 12th. This class will be capped at 25 people.

International Connections Academy - The home school office received a number of inquiries from counselors and parents about the status of International Connections Academy. There have been a lot of commercials on TV for K-12/Connections Academy; International Connections Academy is the branch of their company that is approved in Maryland. International Connections Academy is an approved online non-public school in Maryland; the only other one is Calvert Academy. If a student withdraws from BCPS to enroll in ICA or Calvert, the student should be withdrawn using the code for a non-public school. Below is a link to the approved non-public schools in Maryland; ICA is located in Howard Co. and Calvert Academy is located in Baltimore County.

DECOMMISSIONING OF SILK
The master scheduling process for secondary schools has fully transitioned to the Student Instructional Program & Resource Management Tool (SIPRMT). As of Friday, August 16th school staff no longer have access to SILK. All school staff members with access to SIPRMT have been trained to support their responsibilities in alignment with the School-based Scheduling Team and Timeline document. Please share this information with school staff as appropriate.

High School Co-Enrollment Process
There is new functionality in SIS this year for co-enrollment between zoned schools and Educational Options programs. Below are two resources to support this new feature. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document provides conditions and guidelines for co-enrollment. The accompanying video provides narrated step-by-step directions for the co-enrollment process within SIS. Any questions about co-enrollment can be directed to the Educational Options team.

Signup Genius
College representatives are now signing up to visit with students at your school. You or a designee should review your signups and remove blackout dates shared with your department chair this summer and create visits in Naviance for students to review.
Signups are for college and military reps as well as employers. Please do not refuse military reps and employers who sign up using the system. We’re working to create a separate database of employers and reps but we want students to have access to all opportunities.
If a rep contacts you directly to schedule a visit, please forward their email to me or have them email me directly so I can add them to the email group before sharing the links.
