Notes from the Teachers
Math:
Students rocked their first test on place value and comparing numbers. We were so excited to see them using their strategies and showing their work.
Reading:
Students worked on reading with expression during our Reader's Theatre unit. It was so fun to watch everyone get into their roles.
Writing:
We have loved reading student's personal narratives. They have spent several weeks writing, editing, and revising their work, and can't wait to "publish" and present their pieces to the class this week!
Virginia Studies:
Students had a blast creating maps of Virginia out of salt dough. They did a great job representing the regions, bordering states, compass rose, and water features on their maps. This is a creative group.
Science:
Fourth grade had a lot of fun on our Blue Sky field trip to Three Lakes Park learning all about weather. We are looking forward to our next trip on October 29th.
We are excited for all this group will accomplish this year. Please keep encouraging your child to do his or her best everyday!
Respectfully,
The Fourth Grade Team
