ALUMNI IN THE NEWS
Congratulations to Khari Blasingame! Khari caught some eyes during his Pro Day at Vanderbilt back in March. In the preseason, Blasingame ran for 20 yards and a touchdown on eight carries with the Vikings and he also had eight catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns. After a short stint as a member of the Vikings practice squad, Blasingame signed to the Titans’ 53-man roster earlier this week! Outfitted in No.41, Blasingame worked in running back drills on Wednesday alongside backs Derrick Henry, Dion Lewis and Dalyn Dawkins. We are so excited for Khari and look forward to watching him play on Sundays! #BuckPride

Santa’s Helpers is a project undertaken by the BHS Historical Society and our school counselors. We reach out to community members that are interested in purchasing gifts for anonymous students, whom we refer to as our “Christmas Angels.” These are students that, without your help, may not receive gifts for Christmas. The students are all part of the BHS cluster of schools and range in age from infancy to 18 years old. We provide information about the gender, age, sizes, and interests of the students, and ask you to purchase gifts that they may like. The BHS Historical Society then helps collect your gifts, wrap them if needed, and distribute them to the students in need. All gifts must be turned in no later than Friday, December 6. On December 14, 2019, 9am to 12pm, “Shop With a Hero” will be partnering with Walmart to provide Christmas for “at-risk” children in our Huntsville-Madison County school systems. “Heroes” will be paired with a child and given a $100 gift card to go shopping in Walmart.
“Heroes” are all military personnel (active and veterans), Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, MedFlight, HEMSI, Educators, Doctors, and Nurses. We need you to be a “Hero” and invest your time in this incredible opportunity! As a “Hero”, your presence will not only display a lot of love, but will offer hope to those in difficult situations. Will you be a “Hero” this year for a child in need?

Scheduled IRS DRT Outage
The IRS Data Retrieval Tool will be down on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET for system upgrades. Users will be able to access fafsa.gov and the myStudentAid mobile app during the outage, according to FSA, but any tax information required will have to be entered manually. Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
