Convection By: Yovan G. & Lennox P.

"Convection, Radiation, and Conduction are three major modes of heat transfer". "Convection is the transfer of heat through the movement of a fluid". This happens when thermal energy flows through material by movement of heat matter. Circular motion is the main way of heat convection when heat energy is transferred. Temperature and density of matter are related by "air and water are heated, the molecules that make up the fluids gain energy and move more quickly. The molecules move more quickly and group together more frequently. "This causes the molecules to spread out, and the fluid will have a greater volume". "Convection is a very important part of the earth's system". "The circulation of air in the atmosphere is a function of convection". As convection reaches cooler temperatures more into the atmosphere, it can create clouds". In conclusion the flame inside a hot air balloon keeps it flying and without it couldn't fly.
