Thank You Buckingham PTO!

On behalf of the Buckingham community, thank you to our 2015-2016 Elementary PTO Board for their time, dedication, organization and commitment to the staff and students at Buckingham. So much happened this year for the good of the school and the support provided to enhance our experience at Buckingham is appreciated.

Buckingham PTO Walk - Every "Step" Matters - Go GAGA for Buckingham!

A Gaga Applause goes to everyone in the Buckingham Community - you have proved you are the mightiest of Mighty Knights. Together we all help in making a Wish Come True for a deserving Bucks County child through Make-A-Wish!

Buckingham went GaGa for Make-A-Wish! The donation numbers are in and we didn't just make our $5,000 goal - we surpassed it and raised over $6,500!

A Reason to Celebrate!

  • In a very close race with two classes going MILES above and beyond in raising donations to support Make A Wish - we are proud to announce the winner is.........wait, We have a TIE! Congratulations to our pizza party/extra recess winners: Lady Sobusiak's 2nd Grade Brainiacs and Mrs. Kirsches 4th Grade class. The classes raised an astonishing $2,254 combined!

  • Our winner of a soft pretzel party is Mrs. Fillette's 1st Grade Class with a grand total of $512.50!

  • A GAGA shoutout goes to both Elijah Leaver who raised a whopping $450.00 in donations and Ben Richlin who had the highest number of donors! Also special recognition to Sophie Ross, Grahm Hamilton, Travis Costantino, Ava Snyder, Ava Spletzer and Sarah Boland who truly went the extra miles with their fundraising efforts!

Attention 1st Grade Students - Book Buddies!

First Grade - Books & Buddies!

Mrs. Kraus is inviting the first graders to bring a small stuffed animal and their favorite book to their last library class as a fun way to end the school year! This is a great opportunity for the students to share their love for reading by sharing a favorite book with their classmates and stuffed animal friends. Please be sure the stuffed animal is small enough to fit in your first grader's back pack.

Last Day of School - June 15

Due to the snow day on January 25th, the Central Bucks School Board approved the last day of school for students will be Wednesday, June 15th (Half-Day Dismissal at 12:10PM; AM Kindergarten Only). PM Kindergarten's last day will now be Tuesday, June 14th. For a one-page calendar format, please CLICK HERE.

Please mark on your calendar that the last day is now June 15th.

Save the Date - 6th Grade Promotion

Dear parents of 6th Graders - Buckingham's 6th Grade Promotion will be held at 7:00PM in the Holicong Auditorium on Thursday, June 9th. It nwill be a great night celebrating our 6th Graders' time at Buckingham!

School Happenings

1st & 2nd Grade Concert

On Monday, May 16th - Buckingham's first and second graders participated in a concert to showcase their many musical talents with two-amazing chorus performances! The first graders highlighted songs from Disney while the second graders sang familiar musical songs from Sound of Music, Oliver, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown - to name a few. It was a wonderful way to celebrate music and all they learned throughout the year!

Buckingham Field Day 2016

Field Day 2016 welcomed beautiful weather with warm temperatures (finally) and sunshine! It was a great day for friendly competitions featuring blue vs. gold students on the fields and in the gymnasium. Blue came out on top for the day with a 1-point overall victory even after the Gold team made a valiant effort with their domination on the tug-of-war competition! Thanks to Mr. Durie, the teachers and all of our parent-volunteers who helped make it a great day!

Buckingham Science Fair 2016

The Buckingham Science Fair was showcased Tuesday, May 31st - as children conducted science experiments in preparation for the big event! Students worked in teams to create impressive and thought-provoking hypotheses to test and report. Each child completed the requirements and displayed their results on beautifully-0created tri-fold boards. Congratulations to the students who contributed their thoughts and ideas to the Science Fair!

Spirit Day Assembly - Jabali Afrika/Dress "Like a Tourist" Day

From East Africa’s Kenya, Jabali Afrika, brought their own unique mixture of fusion and African rhythms to Buckingham Elementary School on May 19th. Original compositions came alive on a wide variety of instruments, accompanied by vocal harmonies that form the foundation of modern rock, jazz, blues and more! With their talented dancing and choreography, Jabali Afrika gave a multi-cultural experience that left the audience educated and entertained!

Student Showcase

Principal for the Day - Miss Ava Snyder

As part of the staff raffle of prizes, Ava was the recipient of Mr. Funseth's "Principal of the Day" prize. Ava joined Mr. Funseth in running the school on Wednesday, June 1st - where she made several important decisions like: Music in the cafeteria and "No Homework Wednesday" - she was a very popular school leader!

National Nutrition Month - Poster Contest - Reagan Passantino - Grade 2!

Congratulations to Reagan Passantino - who was recognized by the Central bucks School Board on May 24th, 2016 - for her poster entry into the National Nutrition month Contest. Reagan is a 2nd grader from Mrs. Rosztoczy's second grade class.

General PTO Meeting - QUEST Review & New Board Election

At the May 19th General Meeting - the Buckingham PTO held their bi-monthly meeting with the school community audience members. At this meeting, we received a review of the QUEST Program after its inaugural year in Central Bucks (courtesy of QUEST Teacher, Mrs. Doherty).

In addition, elections were held welcoming the new members of the PTO Board. Joining our Year-2 Board Members, Co-President - Jennifer Arslan and Treasurer - Lori Tinari will be:

Calling for Homeroom Coordinators - 2016-2017!

Interested in being a Homeroom Coordinator next year? HRCs are the lifeline between the parents and your classroom. They help organize parties and celebrations, send regular email reminders out to the class, as well as contribute to the yearbook. If interested, please click on the link HRC Duties and Signup Sheet (also on our website) and apply by June 1st to DeeDee Snyder (smithiedee@gmail.com).

HRCs will be determined over the summer and notified before the start of school.
