Teacher Appreciation Week - May 3-7
Our PTA has planned a week of surprises for our teachers! Thank you to Lorin Kain, for leading these efforts. During an unusual year, we want to send an extra special appreciation for their hard work providing engaging virtual and in-person lessons, connecting with students, and ensuring that students’ needs are met!
TEACHER
(n) tee-cher: A multi-tasking educational rockstar who lives to inspire and loves to encourage. They're kind of a big deal.
Candid Color Ordering Information - spring Pictures
In 2-3 weeks, you will receive a proof card. The access code and ordering information will be on that card. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to request an access code online. Go to candidcolor.net to request a code or call 1-800-321-4256 to speak to customer service.
Reminders
Grange Hall READS: We are asking all parents to partner with us this Spring and keep our students reading! Children need to practice reading daily! Just like in baseball, it's hard to hit a baseball if you're not seeing a ball pitched to you day after day. Our teachers are throwing 1-2 pitches to our students each day. That's not enough. We are asking ALL families to have children read for at least 20 minutes each night.
This includes but not limited to:
- Reading to a sibling, parent, grandparent, etc.
- Having a family member read to them
- Listening to an audio book
- Reading notes for content areas to study and review
Together, we will continue to build a strong foundation for all of our Bulldogs!
Papa John's Contest for Schools:
Grange Hall needs your help! Papa Johns pizza is having a contest where they are giving away $40,000! Contest ends May 31st and all you have to do is put "GRANGE" in the promotion code when you order online. Send to your friends and family!
Summer School:
Please go to this link to find information about our Summer Programs. Face-to-Face Summer School and Virtual Summer School will be available from June 28th-July 22nd at no cost. Our students will attend Summer School at Grange Hall Elementary with Winterpock students joining us. This year, transportation will also be offered as neighborhood pick ups if registration is completed by June 1st!
Registration is from April 19th-June 1st. Visit the linked website for more information.
Our Summer School Principal is Mrs. Vickie Hugate - victoria_hugate@ccpsnet.net - please reach out to her with any questions.
K-8 Virtual Academy:
CCPS is offering students in K-8 an opportunity to attend a new Virtual Academy if they still do not feel comfortable returning to school in the fall for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will learn synchronously online from home or another place of their choosing. They will work with a licensed CCPS teacher who may not be a teacher from their home school and likely will be in a virtual classroom with students from other schools. The school day will follow the traditional school day schedule with core courses and resource classes, as well as tiered student supports. Specialized programs (such as CBG) may not be available. Families will decide whether to enroll in the Virtual Academy for just the first semester or the entire school year. If your K-8 student is interested in registering for the Virtual Academy for the 2021-22 school year, please use this registration form. The registration deadline for the K-8 Virtual Academy is June 1, 2021. CCPSOnline is another option for secondary students. Additional information about that program can be found here. Registration for CCPSOnline ends July 9.
Curbside meals service distribution will continue to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. A current list of available curbside pickup locations can be found at bit.ly/CCPSMealsUpdates.
