Our Mission: To Glorify God by making More and Better Disciples
From the Administrator
Hi everyone!
You can look forward to this newsletter from yours truly. It comprises of time-sensitive announcements, events, service schedules, offering schedules, our prayer list and a link to our bulletin "Hot Sheet". I will send these out each week, typically on Thursdays. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
Have a great weekend and see you on Sunday!
In Christ,
Nancy - Church Office Administrator
Sunday morning text: Isaiah 12:2-6
Evening Services are being temporarily suspended beginning Sunday, December 30, 2018 until further notice.
Children ages 3-6th grade will be singing today during the morning service. After the children are done singing the kids ages 3-2nd grade will be released to Children's Worship. The older children will return to sit with their parents for the remainder of the service. Don't forget to have the kids find Sarah in the Social Hall after the service for a small treat for participating.
There will be no Children's Worship on Christmas Day.
"In House" New City Catechism - All parents with at least one child between the ages of 3 and 6th grade are invited to take part in our new venture together! Be sure to download the app (search "New City Catechism APP") on your phone, tablet or other electronic device. The lesson this week will be What is the law of God stated in the Ten Commandments?
Have questions? Join the ‘New City Catechism Discussion with First CRC’ Group on Facebook!
If you are planning on making a "year-end" donation to the church: Please bring it to the office or in the mail BY OR BEFORE Friday, December 28th. The law does not allow accepting donations on January 1st for the previous year.
According to the IRS, "Charitable contributions are considered to be made on the date of delivery to the charity..."
Thus, even if you give a 2018 check on January 1st 2019, it cannot be accepted as a charitable donation for the year 2018.
Living Water International Mission Trip - First CRC has partnered with Living Water International to send a team to Alta Verapaz, Guatemala to bring a safe water source to a local church, Ministerios El Shaddai Carcha. Trip dates have been set for April 6-13, 2019 with an approximate cost of $1,500 per person. If you would like to join our mission team to Guatemala or would like more information, please contact Pastor Sikkema.
