Basics

Cricket isn't a very complex game but if you aren't interested it will take you longer to learn. The only sport Cricket can be compared to would be baseball. Cricket contains a field called "the Ground" which holds a total of 22 players. Each player has 11 men to play. They also have a 12th man who is to be considered a substitute. If a player is to get hurt the sub will come in and play. If the player can come back the sub shall then come out. The equipment you need to play, is a ball, a bat. wickets, and protective gear. There are 11 fielders and 2 batsman. The batsman farthest from the bowler is the striker who hits the ball. The other batsman runs if necessary. A run is scored if both the batsman run to the opposite popping crease. You are out if the fielder knocks out one or both wickets. To prevent runs the fielders can threaten to run out the batsman. So those are the most basic rules to Cricket and that answers the main question. What are the rules and expectations of Cricket?
