2023 Important Field Day Information

It is time again for one of the students’ favorite events of the year - Field Day! This is a special day for the students to get outside and run around for half of the day. Field Day this year is spread across 2 mornings from 8:30am-11:45am.

  • Grades 3-5 will participate on Tuesday May 23rd
  • Grades 4K-2 will participate on Wednesday May 24th.
Remember to send your students with easy dry athletic clothes and tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting a little muddy/dirty, a complete change of clothes (to include extra socks and shoes), and a labeled water bottle. Apply sunscreen and bug spray before sending them to school in the morning. If your child wishes to bring sunglasses or a hat, these are fine for outdoors but will need to be removed prior to going back inside. If you are volunteering, please remember to do the same things for the day!!!

Thanks so much for being such supportive parents for Irmo Elementary School and making this a great day for all the kids!

Lost and Found Reminder

Please check the lost and found over the next few weeks as you are visiting IES. We have purchased clothing racks for you to easily view items. They will be placed down in the small sitting area across from the media center. We will have items clearly displayed as you visit and volunteer in the hive so that you can look through them. All items will be donated at the end of the school year.

State Testing and Devices: What do you need to know?

In addition, as a reminder of state testing policy, students may not be in possession of any electronic or other device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images, or storing images.

These devices include, but are not limited to:

cell phones

smart watches

media players

electronic readers

headphones

stop watches

electronic translators

handheld devices

electronic imaging/photographic devices.

To help with this, we recommend that such devices be left at home on testing days. To ensure we are providing an optimum testing environment and following the regulations, IES students will be directed to secure all such devices in their book bags which will be placed away from students.
