Rules
2. Be prepared.
3. Be respectful.
4. NO cell phones.
Be Prepared-Bring paper, pencils, pens, library book, journal and assignments to class every day.
Be Respectful- Keep your hands, feet and personal items to your self.
Consequences
- The first time a student disrupts the class, I will place a green warning card on your desk. This is your first and only warning.
- The second time a student disrupts the class, I will place a yellow warning card on your desk. This means you will be assigned lunch detention.
- The last time a student disrupts the class, I will place a red warning card on your desk. This means you will leave the classroom and work on your assignment in the hall.
If a student receives 3 yellow cards in a six weeks it will result in parent contact. If a student receives 2 red cards in a six weeks it will result in a conference with Mr. Ritchey.
Don't break the rules! I will find out!
Classroom Procedures
What to do when you come into class:
- Enter quietly and sit down in your assigned seat (No Talking)
- Copy the bell work from the board.
- Work by yourself.
- If you finish early, read your library book.
- Wait for further instructions from the teacher.
Tardy Policy:
You are tardy if you are not in your assigned seat and working when the bell rings.
You have one free tardy pass, every tardy after that will result in lunch detention.
If you are tardy more than 3 times each six weeks, it will result in parent contact.
If you are tardy to class, you must:
- Walk in quietly making as little noise as possible.
- Sign the tardy sheet at the door (Name, Date, Time). If you have a pass leave it in the pass bin.
- Take your assigned seat.
- Join the activity in progress.
Homework:
Turn in all homework in the correct bin! Be sure to always write your full name and class period on the homework assignment. Work must be complete and neat!
Late or Incomplete Work:
- If you have a missing assignment, you must take a missing work slip from my desk and turn the slip in to replace your assignment. Be sure to write the assignment name, date and sign the slip.
- Everyday your assignment is late, it will result in a day of lunch detention.
- Late or incomplete work will receive 20 points off of your base grade.
Absences:
- It is your responsibility to check the missing work folder for your assignments. Students will have the number of days absent in addition to an extra day to complete the assignment.

As your teacher, I pledge to do everything I can to help you be a success both in class and in the future. I will not do anything to inhibit your ability to learn in my classroom. I will treat you with respect and dignity. This will be a safe and fair classroom environment. Every student will have the chance to be heard. I will keep you informed about what to expect and will teach you everything you need to know to be a success in my class. If you ever have questions, you may ask me. If I don’t know the answer, I will FIND it for you or direct you to someone who can answer it for you. I will grade fairly in as timely manner as possible.

As a student, I understand the syllabus for Ms. Winn’s class. I will follow the rules and guidelines both in the syllabus and in the classroom to the best of my abilities every day so that I can be successful. I will allow my peers to be successful by practicing respect and self-discipline in everything. I understand that this syllabus and the class rules and procedures can change at any time to keep a successful learning environment for my classmates and myself. I understand that if, at any time I am confused about the classroom rules, procedures or assignments, it is my responsibility to ask Ms. Winn or a classmate for clarification.
