Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day-Nov. 16

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day is November 16th. Join students from around the country in a walk for justice and take steps to build a better future where racism, and all forms of bullying, have no place.

Ruby Bridges made history at 6 years old when she integrated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans and became a national icon for the civil rights movement in 1960.

Learn more about Ruby Bridges by walking to your nearest Beaverton City Library branch (closed 11/11). Use your Student Library Card to check out books about Ruby Bridges. New students to BSD this year will receive their Student Library Card by mail before winter break.

Findley families are encouraged to walk to school next Wednesday, November 16 to show their commitment to help build a better future for all.

Findley Fall Clean Up

Lead by Cub Scout Pack 718, supported by Findley PTO

Findley's Cub Scout Pack, Pack 718 will be running Findley Fall cleanup Nov. 19 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We will rake leaves, clear out some bushes, and do a little planting. We invite the community to join us in helping to keep our school looking nice and getting to know our neighbors.

If you would like to attend, please add names and contact information for all who will attend to our online signup sheet so we will have an idea of how many people to expect. Findley Fall Cleanup is a great opportunity to enjoy some fresh fall air while helping out the school and getting together. We will be there having fun, rain or shine.

For volunteering, suggestions, or questions please contact william.dieter@gmail.com or anujabbansal@gmail.com.

Beaverton School District Inclement Weather Information

When we have inclement weather, school schedules could be affected. School closure or delayed

start decisions will typically be communicated to media outlets and posted on the district website,

ParentSquare and social media by 5:30 a.m. The District makes decisions based on the ability to

operate school buses safely, the ability of parents and students to drive safely, and the ability of

students to walk safely. Decisions are made for the entire District. However, we encourage families to make transportation and attendance decisions for their children based on their own assessment of travel conditions at their locations.
