Digital Citizenship Curriculum
Beginning the week of February 15th, a digital citizenship curriculum plan will be implemented in all buildings to ensure students of WWH will behave safely, and participate responsibly in our digital world.
GEARup2LEAD
Hamady Middle/High School teachers participated in a grant funded training with Adam Hartley, the director of GEARup2LEAD. During the professional development, teachers learned about the six steps of heroic leadership, with a focus on growth mindset, empathy, action and responsibility.
Middle School Teachers will begin to pilot the heroic leadership curriculum with students in March.
District Wide Book Study
In an effort to provide students of Westwood Heights an experience of engaging lessons within the classroom, teachers will be learning the best practice strategies necessary for raising achievement.
McMonagle Elementary Curriculum Work
At the end of the month, sixth grade teachers will work on Social Studies curriculum to prepare for changes with the new standards. The team of teachers will work collaboratively with the technology teacher to align standards and implement technology experiences focused on application of Social Studies content.

Hamady Middle/High School Upcoming Math Data Meetings
In early March, the math team at Hamady will review results from the mid-year benchmark assessments to monitor effectiveness of new math resources . During this meeting, teachers will analyze data and identify areas of strengths and weaknesses with student achievement of standards.
Event Information
Hamady Literacy Night
In collaboration with the University of Michigan-Flint, teachers will create engaging literacy experiences for community and families to participate in.
