Scholarship Time - Paper copies of scholarships are available in the counseling center

Jenkins Memorial Scholarship - this application if for high school seniors who will be pursuing a degree in education. Deadline to apply is December 15, 2022. For more information or to apply click the link below.

Monroe Professional Engineers Society - The local chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers offers scholarships to seniors who will be attending an ABET accredited engineering program in the fall of 2023. Deadline to apply is December 23, 2022. For more information or to apply click the link below.

Beginning Monday, October 24th and ending Sunday, November 6th, students can apply to up to five SUNY campuses with no application fee! This includes all 64 SUNY campuses, no matter which application vehicle the student uses. Students can get details here:

Virtual SUNY Expo
Registration for our featured student event, the Virtual SUNY Expo, is now open. At this online college fair students can attend live information sessions and visit campus booths to chat with admissions counselors. Students can register here: You can view all of our student events here.

SUNY Brockport - no application fee, field trip and instant decision day

Seniors are you interested in applying to Brockport? If so, you can apply to Brockport and not have to pay an application fee as long as you apply by October 31st. Use the link below for more details and to apply.

Can't decide on SUNY Brockport? Attend our field trip to SUNY Brockport on November 14. Join us for a campus tour, information session with admissions counselors and student services and free lunch! Pick up your passport in the counseling center today.

After you apply, sign up for your SUNY Brockport Instant Decision Day on Monday, November 21st. The college admissions representative from SUNY Brockport will be here that day and talk to you about your admission status. Sign up in your naviance account and Ms. Marcello will send you an email with your appointment time.

Let's talk Monroe Community College

On November 16th, school counselors will guide you in applying to MCC during lunch blocks in the counseling center. It is an open format, the only thing you need to bring is your chromebook and you will need to know your social security number. You may sign up in the counseling center or just show up that day.

MCC Instant Decision Day is at Thomas HS on Wednesday, November 30th. Seniors - sign up for an appointment with the admissions representative from MCC in your naviance account. Ms. Marcello will send you an email with your appointment time for that day.

Upcoming in-school events

WNY College Fair in the Media Center: November 4th the Western NY Area Colleges will be in the media center from 12-12:45. This is a great chance to visit with multiple western NY college representatives at one time. See the list of colleges in the flyer below. Sign up for this fair in your naviance account.

Seniors: Every Wednesday until November 9th a School Counselor will be available to assist you with your college applications during lunch blocks in the library. Stop in for assistance with your college application questions.

College representatives are visiting Thomas this fall. Sign up in your naviance account to visit with college representatives like: Colgate, Syracuse University, University of Tampa and U of R. If you need help with your naviance account, please stop in the counseling center or email your school counselor.
