Important Information
Dear King Families!
The chill in the air, the fallen acorns that crunch as we walk, the spattering of orange, yellow and red in the trees, and the scurry of squirrels in the yard all serve as reminders that fall has definitely arrived! It was a lovely weekend to be outside and I hope you were all able to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
We are very excited to have an opportunity to distribute important learning materials to each of our students this week on 10/7 and 10/8. These learning bags will not only include some important supplies, but they will have some essential instructional materials as well that teachers will ask students to access during lessons, such as specific content graphic organizers, manipulatives, books, journals, etc. There will be six windows of time over two days in which you may come by to pick up your child(ren)'s bag(s). Please see the guidelines below to ensure that we are able to efficiently and safely distribute the individualized bags.
Thank you to those who took some time to fill out the brief family feedback survey. If you haven't yet had the chance, I hope you will be able to take a moment to let us know how things are going. The link will remain open this week.
I also invite you to learn more about School Council by clicking the link provided. If you are interested in joining us at King, please complete the survey below.Thank you to those of you who have already expressed an interest. More information will be forthcoming.
Best,
Allison

Open House - October 20, 2020
Open House/Curriculum Night is taking place on October 20, 2020, from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Each classroom teacher will offer two 30 minute sessions for families as outlined below. Hopefully, this will allow each family some flexibility and if they have more than one child at the school, the ability to attend all of them.
- K-2 Homerooms: 6:30-7:00 & 7:00-7:30
- 3-5 Homerooms: 7:00-7:30 & 7:30-8:00
- Specialists: Alternating Blocks
- ESL Teachers, Special Educators, and other service providers will drop into classroom meets.
The goal for this night is to provide families with an overview of the grade-level expectations and curriculum. This is not a time to conference with your child's teacher, but our educators are always willing to arrange for a check-in at another time. Just email them!
We will be sharing meeting links with you in next week's King Connections.
