Our Busy Classroom βοΈ
- Field trip information went home last week. Please return the permission slip and payment by Monday, November 28th.
- Please make sure your child has a coat, hat, mittens, etc for the cold weather. They will go outside for recess every day for about 20 minutes at 11:30. It may not reach the highest temperature of the day at that point. Please label everything.
- Now that the heat is turned on, the room tends to be warm in the afternoon. Please dress your child in layers.
- Please check the extra clothes and make sure they are appropriate for fall.
- I recommend sneakers every day.
- Students are welcome to bring a refillable water bottle every day and keep it on the table.
- Have a great weekend!
One School One Book
Hello HTS Families~
I am happy to announce that we have two big events to celebrate at HTS this school year- One School, One Book and a visit from author Elana K. Arnold!
The goal of the One School, One Book initiative is to have our whole school community reading and talking about the same book at the same time. Our book choice for this year is A Boy Called Bat. We will kick off the event in school sometime after the new year in 2024. Our entire school is encouraged to read the book and celebrate with discussions, activities and contests throughout the winter. Many teachers will be reading the book aloud in class. We will have our final celebration on Thursday, March 14, 2024 with a visit from Elana K. Arnold!
If you would like to purchase the book for your child to read, please complete THIS order form and return it to your childβs teacher by Thursday, November 30, 2023. Purchased copies will be distributed in school in January.
We are excited to celebrate reading as a school community and look forward to your childβs participation in the event. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Tracy Beyrodt
