IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR LEARNING COACHES PLEASE READ!
First Grade Students need to have an ADULT Learning Coach available during every Class Connect Session.
Please remember that your student's education requires teamwork. In order for your student to get the best educational experience possible we ask the following things:
- Supervise that your student is logged in and participating in the lesson using microphones, camera, and chat appropriately. (Remember that students need to be sitting up and dressed appropriately for the camera)
- Supervise that your student is focusing on the lesson and not distracting other students with their tools. (Do not let them make faces in the camera, put objects in the camera, make noises on the microphone, and type random letters in the chat)
- Supervise that your student has all of the necessary supplies for their class connect session. (They should have a whiteboard and marker for every session)
- Supervise that your student can log in and complete their Exit Ticket. (Please do NOT answer the questions or guide them to the correct answers) The Exit Tickets are not graded, we use these to guide our instruction. This helps us to reinforce concepts that they do not understand.
- Keep background noise to a minimum so that your student can hear the teacher and the teacher can hear them. (Remember that the microphones pick up any and all noises nearby, such as TVs , radios, siblings, and private conversations you may be having)
Teachers thank you so much for your continued support. We know that by working together, We can help your student thrive.
ATTENTION
REMINDER ABOUT REQUIRED CLASS CONNECT SESSIONS!

NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY:
This year we are focusing on multiple aspects of the students' engagement when looking at their attendance. We are looking at the whole student; Is the student logging on to the online school each day? Is the student working through their lessons and completing their lessons? Is the student attending their required classes and engaging in their classes? Their course progress, time in courses, required live class attendance, and overall grades. If students are focused on these things, then they will be in good standing with attendance.
Some students need more time to complete lessons and some students may complete lessons more quickly. This change will allow both groups of students to achieve their goals.
These changes will allow for students to not have to track their time in outings, in-person testing, supplemental activities, and other educational situations.
If a student is absent, they will still make up their lessons the same way as previous years except the LC will not input their hours. If they miss class connect sessions, they will watch the recording and complete the exit tickets. Our online school will track their time online. Again, we will be looking at the student's overall engagement between logging in, completing lessons, and attending classes.
Thank you for your patience with this change in our attendance procedures. Our goal is to continue to improve the overall learning experience for our students and families.
