A message from the principal
Oxbow Creek Families,
We are focusing on cooperation during the month of March. We define cooperation as working together to meet shared goals or working together and helping others. Whether you are staying home or traveling, spring break is a great time to focus on cooperation. Adults can show children the importance of cooperation by highlighting how life and even big tasks are more manageable with the help of others. Here are a few suggestions to make cooperation an even bigger focus at home:
- Celebrate all the ways you have seen each other practice cooperation.
- Ask for help and then highlight how much easier it is to accomplish a task when you work together as a family.
- When children are struggling to get along, instead of taking a break from one another, encourage them to sit and listen to each other. Practice whole body listening.
I'd love to hear stories about how you use cooperation at home!
