Curriculum Night- Thursday, September 7
PICK YOUR SESSION TO ATTEND
Our curriculum night is structured in three sessions to allow families with students in multiple grade levels to see each grade level. You may pick any of the sessions to attend. The staff will be giving the same presentations at all three sessions. It is critical that you are prompt in your arrival to the session. Teachers will start their presentations promptly. 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience Information.
Our school is scheduled to visit Broemmelsiek Park on September 13th, 2017 and Quail Ridge Park on September 14th, 2017. We have begun sharing information regarding the 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience schedule, appropriate attire and any supplies students may need to bring. Due to this event being similar to a field trip, we do not feel the need to host a special parent meeting like we have in the past for camp.
Please note that on both days students will depart from school shortly after morning announcements and will arrive back to school by 6:00 P.M. Parents will need to pick up their child from Lakeview each day. Students will also need a sack lunch each day they attend.
The cost for the 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience is $25 per student. This fee covers snacks, curriculum supplies, transportation and a 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience t-shirt.
Our staff is looking forward to having your child join us and will assist you in any way possible! If you have any questions or comments, please call Mr. Gill, 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience Director at 636-332-2923 or email troygill@wsdr4.org.
How to Speed Up Parent Drop Off and Pick Up
What to Do:
- Complete Parent Pick Up Registration-without this you will need to show identification
- Pull all the way forward in the line. We want the entire sidewalk filled with cars before students are sent out. This allows the maximum number of cars to fill each time.
- Stay in your car at all times.
- Students enter and exit curbside.
- Remind your student to listen for his/her name while waiting in the gym for pick up.
- During a.m. drop off, once your student is safely out and walking towards the building please pull out of the drop off lane.
- Have your student ready to exit in the morning. As you wait in the line, prepare your child to exit curbside quickly when you are on the curb.
- During p.m. pick up, please encourage your child to enter the car quickly. If your child needs buckling help, please pull into a parking spot to do so.
- Display your parent pick up tag in front window or on the visor for p.m. pick up.
- Do not encourage your child to move from the sidewalk as you drive up. We hold students until cars have stopped for their safety. We will not release your child to you if you stop in front of the stairs. All cars must move forward.
Late Start Supervision
The WSD will be providing supervision for K-6 students who need to be dropped off at the regular start time on scheduled Late Start Days in the 2017-18 school year. This service is separate from Chautauqua and only for students who are not enrolled in the Chautauqua Before School program.
The fee is $10 per child for each late start day you would like to register. Please fill out the REGISTRATION FORM first prior to paying. If you choose to use PayPal, there is a sliding scale charge assessed to cover processing costs. You also have the option to send a check in to your child's school.
Our next Late Start Day will be on Monday, September 18, 2017. All elementary schools will begin two-hours later than normal on these designated days. The "Late Start" time for Lakeview Elementary is 10:20 a.m.
Library News

LVE Parent Teacher Organization
Our PTO general membership meeting takes place on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the library. Our September PTO meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Looking for Lion's Den Volunteers for September and October
The Lion's Den is our school store that students visit to spend Den Dollars. Den Dollars are earned by attending school and meeting expectations. We are looking for parent volunteers who could help operate the store for September and October shopping days.
If you are interested in volunteering in the store, please complete the online registration form below. All shifts will be two hours long. Feel free to sign up as often as you'd like. All volunteers must have completed a Wentzville School District volunteer background check prior to working the store. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
We will be limiting our volunteers to 4 people for each time slot. These will be selected based on sign up order. We are looking only for people who can positively support our students during their shopping experiences.
Please click below to sign up.
Kindergarten Screening
Get a jump-start on the Kindergarten registration process by having your child screened on Thursday, October 5 or Friday, October 6, 2017. This is a great opportunity to see where your child is developmentally, learn his or her strengths, and see in what areas he or she may need some extra work before Kindergarten begins. Please call the Parents as Teachers office at (636) 327-3863, ext. 22281, to schedule an appointment.
We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the early screening opportunity if you have any concerns about your child’s development. We will also be offering screenings in the preschools again this year so future Kindergarten students will have the opportunity and convenience of having their screening done on site.
