A Note From Mrs. Anderson
Powell Family,
Let me begin by introducing myself! My name is Erin Anderson and I have the honor of being the new principal at Powell Elementary! While this will be my first year in this new role, I am not new to Powell. Over the last many years, I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade and been an Assistant Principal at Powell. For the last two years, I have served as the Assistant Principal at Oak Ridge Elementary. The beginning of a school year is always an exciting time, and we are looking forward to another successful year! We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of your child.
I am currently out on maternity leave and will return to campus on September 5. In the meantime, Linda Ross, a retired CISD Principal, is serving as my long term sub. If you need anything, she will be happy to assist!
At Powell Elementary, we believe in collaboration with parents and community members. We are dedicated to providing a positive learning environment that empowers students to strive for excellence, accept others, and treat everyone with kindness. Our goal is to encourage all students to persevere academically and be responsible citizens in our school, community, and the world around them!
I am looking forward to working together with you and your child(ren), and I feel certain that you will enjoy being a part of the Powell Panther family! If we haven't had the opportunity to meet in person yet, please come by and introduce yourself when on campus. I look forward to working alongside all of you this year!
Erin Anderson
Principal

PTO News
Happy Friday Panthers! Your Powell PTO is busy putting on the finishing touches to our 2023-2024 family membership drive. Please be sure to join the Powell Elementary PTO Facebook page to stay up to date on everything your PTO has coming up.
Be sure to stop by and visit our PTO booth at Panther Premier Monday, August 7th to join PTO. Joining PTO not only supports our school financially, but it keeps you in the loop on the fun things we are doing for your Panther, teachers, staff, and school.
Get a head start on the CISD background check for a smooth check-in process at Powell! (https://apps.conroeisd.net/volunteer/) The background check will allow you to enter Powell Campus during our events, volunteer opportunities, and get togethers.
The first few days of school will go by quickly as a courtesy to our teachers we are asking for a few Volunteers to help with the first 3 days of school lunch. We are asking for help from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade parents for Kinder and 1st grade lunches. The kids will be learning a new routine and might be a little distracted if they see family there. Click on the link to our signup genius.

(You do not have to be a PTO member for this volunteer opportunity)
The incentive for joining PTO this year will be a color changing cup and straw with our Powell Panther logo on it. So you can slurp up some of your favorite drink while looking cool!
This year our Fundraising team is partnering up with Mabels Labels to help out our PTO and your Panther. Labeling items such are jackets, shoes, water bottles, and lunchboxes will ensure these items make it back to your panther and not into Lost & Found.
