Transitional Kindergarten for 2022-23 ENROLLMENT HAPPENING NOW!
Great News!
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year is currently taking place.
The enacted budget establishes the path toward the expansion of Universal TK by phasing in, from the 2022-23 through 2025-26 school years. School districts are required to admit eligible students to a TK program.
In addition, as a condition of receiving state funds, a school district shall do all of the following:
- Maintain an average TK class enrollment of no more than 24 students.
- Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, maintain a staff-to-student ratio of 1:12.
- Beginning in the 2023-24 school year and for each year thereafter, maintain a staff-to-student ratio of 1:10 students. This means that there will be a ratio of two educators for every 10 students in each TK classroom, including credentialed TK teachers.
TK Enrollment for the 2022-23 school year!
- Children who were born between 9/2/2017 - 2/2/2018 are eligible for TK in 2022-2023

Great Opportunity for Parent Involvement! Join Your School English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
Whenever there are 21 or more English learners at a school site, there needs to be a functioning English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). This committee includes English learner parents and staff who advise the principal on school programs and services and the development of the school plan for English learners. Parents of English learners are elected to be a part of the committee and one of the members serves as the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) representative. Please contact your child’s school principal for more information on ELAC and how you can get involved in supporting your child's education.
