Greetings from Dr. Garcia!

November 9, 2019

Friday night the PTSO held the first CIA Trivia night. It was a wonderful event that built community and raised funds for our literacy room. Thank you to the PTSO for putting on a wonderful event.

Literacy is a key focus of the work we do at Clay International. Please continue to support this work by having your scholar read for 20 minutes a day and read to your scholars whenever possible.

We have reopened the CIA spirit wear store with some new winter items. Items can be purchased using this link: https://ciawinter2019.itemorder.com/sale

All South Bend Community schools will be closed on November 19th to allow educators to attend the #RedForEd Action Day in Indianapolis. This is an important day for educators and school districts across the state of Indiana. There are currently 71 school districts closed for the action day.

Latin instruction has returned to Clay International thanks to the student volunteers from the University of Notre Dame. Learning Latin unlocks so many opportunities for our scholars, and we are thankful to provide this experience at CIA. Our 5th grade students are currently learning Latin.

Blessings,

Dr. Garcia
