Theme Analysis
In "A Raisin In the Sun" it's mostly about dreams. In the story everyone has one big dream that they would like to achieve in life. But from their perspective they see their dreams far away. But the Youngers have hope that one day everything would be different like Walter said "You wouldn't understand yet son, but your daddy's going to make a transaction that is going to change our lives." This is trying to say that one day Travis would see things different in their lives . They earned this buy hard work from someone special in their lives. "We have decided to move into our house because my father - my father- he earned it for us brick by brick." Mrs. younger before dyeing worked hard to bring money home so there family would never starve to death.
Characterization & quest for the American dream.
Lena Younger is a proud women. she is someone who always walk's with her head up high. She doesn't let nothing or no one bring her down. she is a strong women. Her biggest dream is to have a house of their own. Just because the Youngers are a different color race nothing stop's them from moving into an upscale neighborhood. Walter is a big dreaming man. He hardly could count on some people. His biggest dream is to invest in a liquor store with his dad's life insurance money. with this plan Walter thinks it could change their live in many ways. This restates back to my thesis because mama and Walter never gave up they always did what was best for them and their family.
Conclusion
In conclusion the Younger family do achieve there goal as to buying a house of there own. Nothing had stopped them from moving into and upscale neighborhood.
