2014 Favorite Things Party
Please Join Me for Our 4th Annual Favorite Things Party
It's that time of year again!
Here's the deal: Please bring a favorite appetizer or dessert. I'm going to supply some of my favorite beverages - probably a wine as well as a non-alcoholic option, as many of you will be driving some distance (although you are, of course, always welcome to stay as long as you like).
Your other (fun!) obligation is to bring a favorite thing (anything you like…your favorite lip gloss, favorite kitchen tool, a gift card for your favorite frozen yogurt, baked goods, wine, etc. - if you can't think of anything, I am more than willing to brainstorm ideas with you!). It can’t cost more than $6, and please bring five of the same thing.
When you arrive at the party, we'll write your name on five slips of paper and throw them in a big bowl. The bowl is passed around, and each person takes five names (making sure you don’t pick your own or two of the same name). One at a time you'll each introduce your favorite thing and then read the five names you picked from the bowl and pass out your gift to those five guests. After everyone at the party has presented their favorite thing, each person should end up with five gifts to take home!
A few final notes:
Feel free to bring a friend, but please have them RSVP to this page OR jot a note here (Facebook) RSVP-ing them.
The earlier the RSVPs come rolling in, the better! If you aren't sure if you can make it, but want to come, RSVP "maybe" and then change it to "yes" if it becomes a go. If you are unsure because of weather conditions only, RSVP "yes" and see my next note.
Sometimes it snows (or hails or ices) in New England in December. For this reason, there will be a snow date of January 11th. Same time, same place. I'll try to make the call about whether or not the party will be moved on here about 12 hours in advance. If there is any question on the day of, feel free to call or text me!
And, on an aside, I realllllllly wanted to do paper invitations for this party, as creating invites as well as receiving mail by post are both among my favorite things! However, my schedule isn't really permitting this, and so, here we are. Hope not getting a paper invite doesn't ruin the experience for you! :o)
And finally, if you are from out of town, please RSVP, but feel no obligation to participate unless you really want to from afar - I just wanted everyone to feel included!
I've been asked to make a list of what favorite things were brought in previous years...
