Jasper the Friendly Dog Needs a New Home Due to Family Illness ATLANTA GA, USA

I have been fostering Jasper for the past several months. He can no longer stay with his first forever home family due to family illness. This is very painful to his first family who had three children who will really miss him. I volunteered to foster Jasper and help re-home him. I have had the chance to get to know him very well and so I have put together this information to help find him the a great new home!


Interesting Facts About Jasper:

Jasper lives in Atlanta, Ga-He is 3 years old and lean 26 pounds but quite tall with his long legs and current on all of his vaccinations. He is a mixed breed but seems to be sweet spaniel mix. Jasper was with his first home since he was a baby. He and his siblings had been rescued from Lake Lanier. They had been thrown away in a plastic bag and were found just in time by someone in a boat.


Most Important Fact: He is very loving and has a lot of love to give. He is very much looking for someone that has a lot of love to give back; He thrives on human interaction!


Other Interesting Facts About Jasper:


He loves to play/interact with people and can learn new tricks. He would also be great to take to an agility course.


He is unique in that he can run around like a mad man in a fenced yard and then walk in calmly and chill out in his doggie bed with the family. He is very well behaved!


He plays with toys with his paws while holding toys in his mouth. He sometimes uses the toys in his mouth to play with the toys on the floor.


He very much enjoys hard bones. He does not chew furniture or anything that is not a dog item.


He loves to jump straight in the air to catch a ball.


He learns new commands very quickly and understands what to do.


He loves to take rides in the car and sits very nicely in the back seat.


He spends the day in his roomy crate during the workweek and chills out with no distress.


He enjoys the dog park and has been starting to walk up to other dogs and say hello to them.


He enjoys going on morning and evening walks and would be a great companion to a jogger or regular walker.


He loves children and would enjoy cozying up or playing with kids of all ages.


He has a history of living with cats and gets along with them.


He is housebroken and he quickly does his business in a fenced yard. However, he is not a sunbather and only enjoys being out in the yard only if someone is interacting with him. Otherwise, he prefers being in the house, even on a nice day.


Sometimes he will follow you around the house when you get up to do something, but not all the time.


He is illness free and current on all vaccinations. He takes Sentinel Heartworm/Flea treatment and has always been heartworm negative.


He loves to sleep at the foot of the bed on a doggie mat.


He would do great with a strong pack leader so that he could learn the expectations in his new forever home. Additionally, he is very flexible and adapted to my home immediately and also adapted very well to a friend's home on two occasions when I had to go out of town for 7-14 days. He makes friends wherever he goes and will unconditionally love anyone that will love him back !
