Hazeldale Hawk—Inclement Weather

Inclement Weather and Snow Routes

Beaverton School District Inclement Weather Information

When the weather outside gets inclement, school schedules could be affected. The District generally makes inclement weather decisions by 5:15 a.m., posting them by 5:30 a.m. on the District website and on social media. All Portland Metro area media outlets are also notified and announce the information on TV newscasts and online. Parents and guardians that have opted in for SchoolMessenger will receive timely notifications.

The District makes decisions based on the ability to operate school buses safely; the ability of parents and students to drive safely; and the ability of students to walk safely. The decision that is made will be for the entire District. (As always, parents may choose to make different decisions based on their particular location.)

All the information you need regarding inclement weather in the Beaverton School District is found here.

Snow Routes

The Transportation Department creates snow routes to facilitate student pickup/drop off on days when road conditions may be hazardous due to snow and/or ice. Some regular bus stops will not be available for students and in some cases, entire routes may have to be cancelled. We make every effort to provide transportation when possible and, in some instances, create new bus stops on main roads to pick up students residing in neighborhoods with difficult access for buses.

Transportation Service to Hazeldale will be limited when the District is operating on snow routes.

Routes will fall into one of three categories:

  1. Snow Route: Modifications are made to the regular route and specific stops are listed.
  2. No Snow Route, Driver Follows Regular Route: Stops & times remain as normal.
  3. Route Cancelled: This occurs because the regular stops are not accessible when snow or ice is present. In some cases, a stop may be moved from one route to another for efficiency. If your route is cancelled, please check other snow routes for the closest stop with service.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience when inclement weather conditions cancels or modifies transportation service. For specifics on limited service, please locate your school here.

District Goal: WE empower all students to achieve post-high school success.
