Marijuana
Marijuana
In the perspective of America's war on drugs, marijuana is one of the biggest enemies. And since alcohol and tobacco, two life threatening substances, are legal it is a relevant question to ask why marijuana is illegal. The taxpayers of America can partly answer this question when they fill out their tax forms and when they hear the hash rhetoric used against marijuana by the government. The fact that marijuana is illegal is sufficiently caused by the amount of money, jobs, and pride invested in the drug war. In other words the government cannot turn back now.
In today’s world one of the growing debates is the legalization of marijuana. Nowadays people use “weed” for many different purposes. Whether it be for medical or even recreational weed has become a part of this world. The government in the USA keeps fighting this natural product and destroying lives on account of this drug. It has been proven to be even better than alcohol and many other things in this world. Weed being a natural product has many advantages and disadvantages but the good outweighs the bad.
Marijuana is not as harmful to the body as other intoxicants like alcohol, cigarettes and many more. It has never caused death or cancer. Marijuana is a stimulant to the human body. As said on telegraph.com about fifteen-thousand deaths are caused from alcohol every year. Also it states on CDC.gov in the Unites States about 440,000 die from cigarettes every year while 49,000 of those are from secondhand smoke. Marijuana when used in moderation is actually helpful the body. It can cure some diseases and also can be used as a natural stress and pain reliever.
Teen smokers
.
*
A teen
eating as he smoked
pot... looked at the
leg of the chicken
upon which he was gnawing.
In his slowed down perception
he gave Spirit reception
and never ate flesh again.
*
A woman was passed
a joint... in her expanded
awareness she saw
a highway between
her heart and throat open.
After that she was more
able to speak her mind.
*
A hearing on Capitol Hill.
The alcohol lobbyists,
cumulatively paid billions,
speak of their perceptions
of the danger of pot....
but censor reports of
millions dead in alcohol related
traffic accidents, cirrhosis of the liver,
domestic battering, bar fights,
delirum tremens. The pharmaceutical
drug industry also lobbies against alternative
pain relief systems.

Smoke break
I could not pass up
the opportunity
to smoke a joint
on the unit. Someone
gave me a lighter
and a girl here
gave me the joint
at lunch time.
I realize I broke
a rule regarding
contraband, but
I promise this
will never happen
again. I missed
smoke break because
of this. I know
a cigarette is not
like a joint, but
smoking is one
of the best things
to do in this place.
The food sucks.
The medicine makes
my hands shake
and my mouth drool.
If you were me,
you might have smoked
the joint too. This
girl here is pretty
and persuasive.
I could not turn her
gift down. What would
that say about me?
