Holy Rosary School Derby
NEWSLETTER / TERM 1 / WEEK 8 / 22nd March 2023

Message from Miss Melanie
The end of the term is coming upon us very quickly and I would like to thank all our families for supporting us with attendance. Students have been arriving on time and coming nearly every day. Please keep this up, as school attendance is the best way we can support the learning of students at Holy Rosary. There will be a number of events over the remainder of the year where attendance will be rewarded, details will be sent out as each event becomes closer. For your child to be eligible, please encourage them to come to school every day.
After lots of consideration it has been decided that the school chickens will be re-homed at the end of this week. The upkeep is difficult to manage and unfortunately there has not been support from families to help look after them during the term. They will be going to a lovely home where they will be able to be free range. We will be focusing on developing the vegetable garden next term and we would appreciate help from parents to help maintain garden beds, crops and weeding, as this is a rather large job that requires the support of our community. If you can help, please let Miss Jenna know and she will forward your name to me so we can create a roster.
It is with sadness that we announce that Miss Giorgia will be leaving Holy Rosary School at the end of the week. Miss Giorgia will be taking her long service leave and heading overseas for some exciting travel and once returning she has accepted a teaching position in Broome. We will hold a short farewell and blessing for Miss Giorgia on Friday afternoon in the undercover area, starting at 2.10pm. All families are welcome to attend, so that they can say farewell. We wish Miss Giorgia all the best for her travels and her new position later in the year and thank her for her dedication and hard work during her time at Holy Rosary.
God Bless.
Miss Melanie

Sacraments - for any families who have children who are baptised Catholic and would like to participate in the Sacramental programs, please can you contact the office and let Miss Jenna know. There will be a Commitment Mass for all Sacramental Candidates on Sunday 14th May (Term 2) so we encourage any families to let us know as soon as possible so that we are able to start organising these special events.
If you would like your child to be baptised and participate in the Sacramental program and you are not Catholic, please give your name to Miss Jenna so that we can organise a time to meet with Monsignor Paul.
