Director's Corner

As we enter November, we would like to thank all of our students, parents, and caregivers for their continued cooperation and understanding as we continue to deal with COVID 19. We ask that all students continue to do their COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire prior to entering the school. Furthermore, we ask that students dress accordingly as the temperature continues to drop and our days are getting colder. Our hope is to prevent, as much as possible, illnesses that result in our children and staff having to miss school. The health of our students and staff is extremely important for us all and your cooperation is fundamental! Sick chart is attached for reference.

Please note that students should not be dropped off before 7:30 am. Likewise, afterschool students need to continue to vacate the school as close to 3:10 pm as possible. Thank you for your help with this!

Lastly, on November 10th, are our parent/teacher conferences to discuss your child’s academic progress since September. We will again be hosting our conferences virtually unless teachers receive an email/call from you requesting a phone conference instead.

In the meantime, it is strongly suggested that parents and caregivers of 5th - 12th grade students utilize PowerSchool to monitor their student's academic progress. This will give you a current picture of how well your child is doing in school. There is no need to wait until parent/teacher conferences to know! You would not save all your illness or dental issues for only one day of the year! You are proactive with these appointments and go as you need to, please be the same with your student’s schoolwork! Teachers do their best to keep you informed. Please do your part and log into PowerSchool. If needed, contact your children’s teachers. They are available via email, and of course, by phone!

Stay safe!

Please feel free to contact me anytime by email at

In The Classroom

This month DK-5 we focused on Respect and what it looks like in action. We read "What if Everybody Did That? for further discussion.

We also reintroduced Xello (formerly called Career Cruising) that can help students develop increased self-awareness of their interests and skills along with exploring future careers.

During advisory with 6-12 we did some work on assessing our Character Strengths and also explored the myStrength app and website available through our local Community Mental Health that gives students opportunities to check in with themselves and provides tools to decrease stress.

New Student Lunch

This month Ms. McNamara enjoyed having lunch on Wednesdays with students who are new to Concord. It was a nice opportunity for us to get to know them a little better and hear what they like about Concord and for the students to get to know each other too. We have such an awesome group of students and I really appreciated it since I am new too!

Concord Corner Launch

We have opened the Concord Corner. As a reminder, this is a small food/personal item pantry open to all 6-12 students. They can come and shop on Wednesdays at lunchtime. I am looking forward to watching this program grow!

Holiday Season Assistance

A pink form went home with all DK-5 students in folders and 6-12 students in advisory time. If you or someone you know needs assistance with Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holidays please let me know.
