ROCKWALL ISD BOND ELECTION EARLY VOTING
Early voting is currently underway through October 29. Election Day is Tuesday, November 2.
Based on demographic projections, Rockwall ISD is expected to grow by 3,500 new students by 2030. The November 2 bond election consists of two propositions for new and renovated schools, basic maintenance and capital upgrades, new buses, and computer and technology updates.
If both propositions are approved, the District’s Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate will increase approximately 3/4th of a penny and the total tax rate will be approximately 17 cents lower than our 2015 total tax rate. The District’s total tax rate is expected to remain the lowest among nearby school districts. Short-term bonds will finance short-term projects. Homeowners 65 years of age and older will see no increase in their property taxes if they have filed for their senior citizen homestead exemption, unless the homeowner makes significant improvements.
More information about the 2021 bond propositions, including early voting and election day locations and times, is available on the District’s website, www.rockwallisd.com/2021bondproposal.
