Ardmore's Spirit Week, 4th Annual Pumpkin Book Report, and 45th Annual Literary Parade
Please allow your child/children to dress down this week for "Ardmore's Spirit Week!" We would like to invite all our parents and school community to Ardmore's 4th Annual Pumpkin Book Report and 45th Annual Literary Parade Friday, October 28, 2022. Students prepare for this event by reading a favorite book with their class or independently. A character is chosen from the book and students dress up as the character for the parade. We will begin the parade at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022. There will be no parking in the front parking lot. Please park on playground side of the driveway or on Ardwick Ardmore Road. Our staff will use the back parking lot. Thank you!
Ardmore's Spirit Week!!!
Ardmore Elementary School Library Media Center’s Pumpkin Patch celebrates its fourth year anniversary. Our very first storybook pumpkin patch held in 2019 was a huge success. Every single year, we have unique and unforgettable pumpkin book characters. We would like to continue the tradition of love for books and reading, showcasing your art skills, and building wonderful memories with families. This project is open to ALL Pre-K through fifth grade students. Here’s how it goes:
▪ Read/think of your favorite book then pick one of the characters from that book.
▪ Purchase the cheapest pumpkin, a small pumpkin that you can carry, or a pumpkin that is no larger than a basketball.
▪ Gather your decorating supplies; acrylic paints and permanent markers work best. Other options include adding materials such as yarn, buttons, wiggly eyes, etc.
▪ Please NO Carved Nor Cut Pumpkins.
▪ Pumpkins are due Friday, October 28, 2022.
▪ If you do not have the book, no worries!!! Visit our school library, public library or even the bookstore.
▪ We will read many of these stories and talk about the characters the students have created during our Literary Week.
▪ All pumpkins will be showcased at our Annual Literary Parade Friday, October 28, 2022.
▪ Pumpkins are to be taken home right after the parade.
▪ All remaining pumpkins will be disposed of right after dismissal.
▪ Participation is completely voluntary. Students who will participate will receive a ONE Day Homework Pass.
▪ Be creative and let’s have fun reading! Build a long-lasting memory with families and friends.
