Balboa Academy Dragons
December 5, 2014
As we approach this wonderful time of the year and many of you will be travelling to spend holidays with family and friends, we at Balboa Academy want to wish you and your children Happy Holidays! We will look forward to your return to hear about the special moments and places you travelled to or enjoyed while in Panama.
Students are getting very excited and it is the time for field trips, gift giving to organizations throughout Panama, and many holiday activities. In this newsletter you will get a peek of how students participate in social programs that build character, love, and human kindness.
The end of the quarter also brings some stress due to final examinations and we want to encourage you to talk with your children and help them plan a study schedule and alleviate the stress. Our teachers are available should you have any questions about their exams.
Congratulations to those students who have excelled and will not be taking exams!

Middle School Dragon Day
On Wednesday, November 26, the Middle School celebrated Dragon Day with an array of fun activities. Students at the Middle School have been asking the Dragon House leaders for games that require more physical exertion and they certainly got what they asked for.The different Dragon Houses competed in line soccer, flag football, a basketball shout out, and a very challenging obstacle course. After a short break for lunch, students returned to the Wolf Room where they all enacted their version of the Thanksgiving video, “It’s All about the Baste.” It was a wonderful day full of friendly competition and laughter.
Dragons make the WORLD a better place!
The Earth Bench in front of the High school is not only a work of art with a practical function, but also has a bottle filled with messages from our clubs, students, and teachers. One day, these messages in a bottle will remind our world that "Balboa Academy Dragons were here, and they made the World a better place."
Each Wednesday afternoon, students from the RISE club travel to Colegio Nuestra Señora de Fatima (the same school that participated in our Dragon For a Day) to work with students. They focus on building community and getting students excited about learning.
