Elegy
Aidan, Abby Janice P 1-2
What is an Elegy?
What goes into and Elegy?
Example
Your dextrous wit will haunt us long
Wounding our grief with yesterday.
Your laughter is a broken song;
And death has found you, kind and gay.
We many forget those transient things
That made your charm and our delight:
But loyal love has deathless wings
That rise and triumph out of night.
So, in the days to come, your name
Shall be as music that ascends
When honor turns a heart to shame...
O heat of hearts! ... O friends of friends!
Our Elegy
The school announces your gone.
I don't believe their words
The world seems to be faded
Everyone cries
I just sit there in shock .
just staring at the clock
I walk out of the room and start screaming.
just the thought of your face gleaming
I don't remember the rest of that day.
All I know is that I wanted you to stay.
I miss the smile on your face
it makes me remember your grace
I miss hearing your laughter.
A day doesn't go by where I don't think about you.
I think of how we met
I really didn't think you would go yet
Your smile lit up the room.
it took away the gloom
You loved helping others
When we had a problem,
we knew who to talk to.
You always knew when we were sad.
Your closest friends knew .
But this is not what they thought it would come to.
We all loved you, whether you knew it or not.
Now as we sit in the classroom,
none of us listen,
none of us can focus.
maybe,
One day,
it will be better.
But today
is not that day.
