Congratulations to our very own fifth grade teacher, Courtney Greene, who is an Idaho PAEMST Awardee!

PAEMST stands for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. This is the nation's highest honor for STEM teachers. Mrs. Greene was awarded this honor for instruction in science. Here's more information about Mrs. Greene, and her passion for teaching science.

Math is Cool!

Our 'Math is Cool' team, coached by third grade teacher, Heather Mangini, focuses on challenging math concepts and standards. Fifteen of our fourth and fifth grade students are involved in 'Math is Cool', and four local high school students serve as mentors. The next 'Math is Cool' competition is March 18th. This program is sponsored by Growing the Stem, and we are so proud of our students and mentors who volunteer for this opportunity.
Big picture

Fernan's STEAM Club is also sponsored by Growing the Stem. Teachers Leatha Morgan and Misti Ruchti facilitate this club, while local high school students are the coaches. Our second and third grade students experiment with art and how the art relates to science, technology, and math.
