Edmond Doyle News 2-2-2017

Happy Groundhog's Day! Hopefully, Phil won't see his shadow today so spring can be on its way! However, we live in Oklahoma-the weather here just does whatever it wants! lol

Thanks to everyone that came to our Family Night and our Book Fair. It was exciting to have so many families here! We hope you enjoyed seeing the ways your child uses technology daily. The Book Fair will continue through Friday morning. Hopefully we will make enough to buy some new books for our library. Thanks, Ms. Billos, for being the best librarian media specialist around. She really helps our students a lot and she is a great teacher for them, too.

Our earbuds/headphones are in great need of being replaced. You can buy headphones for $5.00 at Walmart. They actually work better than the earbuds do. If you could get some new ones for your child that would help us a lot. As you saw at Family Night, they do a lot of work on the computers and iPads. Headphones are necessary to get the full advantage of many of the programs we use. Thanks for taking care of us!

Our 3rd & 4th graders will be going to the rodeo Thursday, February 2nd in the morning.

We are excited for the opportunity to get to attend.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be February 2nd from 3:15-6:15 and February 3rd from 8:00-12:00. There will be NO SCHOOL for students on February 3rd.

Some of our 4th graders will be going to Circle the State in Poteau on Friday. We have wonderful singers here at Edmond Doyle. Mrs. Braswell does an excellent job of helping them find their potential.

There is NO SCHOOL on February 6th.

On February 7th everyone that reached their AR goals will be going for a picnic in the park by Eugene Field. Congratulations to everyone that read and got their points.

We will have our Valentine's Day parties on February 10th. Teachers will be sending notes home about what is needed.

The excellence of any society depends most on the excellence of its teachers who lead and its leaders who teach. The most important lessons always start with parents, grandparents, and others who fill those roles. The rest of us have the honor of adding to their foundations, “precept upon precept, line upon line . . . here a little, there a little.” (Isaiah 28:10)

Thank you for giving your child a good foundation and for always supporting us as we try to help your child grow into a responsible, productive, and caring citizen. We love your children and love watching them grow. Please make every effort to attend your child's parent/teacher conference. Together we can all raise successful children!
